Step 4: Connect Your TV's

Now, it's time to setup some hardware to get your computer connected to your TV's.

First, you'll want to check that the browser you are using has casting capabilities. We recommend using Google Chrome for a smoother experience. For the sake of this demo, we have included images using the Google Chrome browser.

To check, click on the three vertical arrows in the top right of your browser and you should see an item listed "Cast."

Next, let's check your TV's to make sure that they can receive a casting signal. Some TV's have this built in, but the easiest way to ensure a strong casting signal is to use Google Chromecast and have that installed on each of your TV's. A Google Chromecast modum is sold for around $20-$30 at any electronics store or online.

In all cases, the TV or the casting device must be connected to the same Wifi to receive a signal.

We do not recommend connecting the computer to the TV using an HDMI unless you are only planning on using one TV in the gym and only planning to display one page at a time. The "Power" of Proform is the ability to cast multiple display features on multiple displays at any time during your workout. This gives you the autonomy to conduct a Professional-level workout in your facilities with limited staff and/or resources.

Once you have connected all of the devices to the same Wifi and have everything set up, let's test the connection by casting one screen.

Click on the vertical dots to the top right of your browser and select "Cast." If you have multiple screens or Chromecasts available, you should see each of those options here. If they are faded out or unavailable, try troubleshooting the devices by restarting them. In some cases, you may need to enter a password displayed on the screen to connect to them. Cast to one of the devices to display your tab.

You should see the same items on your screen displayed on the TV, minus the toolbars and tabs you may see on your computer screen.

Then, try opening another tab in the same browser and cast and follow the same steps above, but cast it to a different TV or device (only if you have multiple TV's set up).

You should see the new tab displayed on the 2nd screen, and the original tab should still be displayed on the first screen.

Once you have this figured out, you will need to plan how you wish to display multiple tabs on different screens. When we start our first workout, we will review the various screens and how each of them has a unique display purpose.
